Trends in existing knowledge gaps
The majority of information we have on biodiversity relates to its status and trends, but there are major knowledge gaps in this information for many species and ecosystems. While the amount of information on biodiversity has increased greatly in recent years, knowledge gaps should be consistently identified and targeted for future monitoring and research efforts.
