Trends in habitat connectivity
The interaction between habitat loss and habitat fragmentation is the leading driver of biodiversity loss and ecosystem service erosion. Expanding habitat size in combination with maintaining and restoring habitat connectivity provides dispersal networks for species to move between larger habitat patches and facilitates climate change adaptation.
